Admission Process

Within the first six weeks, the class team and therapists will assess and observe all students to collect data and gain further understanding of the student’s development and baselines. After six weeks of settling in, and through consultation with parents and the multidisciplinary team, a review meeting will be held at the Academy to draft IEP targets and services provisions and then to call for students’ IEP meetings within the two weeks.

    • Once the admission office sends the acceptance offer, parents will receive a welcome pack that includes information on the class team and various medical and permission forms to fill out.
    • Parents will be invited to meet a member of the senior team, the class teacher, the school clinic, and a member of the Therapy Team to complete the necessary forms together. This is part of the initial data collection and preparation for the student’s transition to his new placement at Warif Academy. Further transition preparation steps will take place to support each student at this critical step.
